Crybaby Bridge
02:16
|
|||
My mother, she dropped me
Off of the bridge she dropped me
I hit my head and wound up dead
But death it would not stop me
Won't stop me, won't stop me
Oh death, it will not stop me
I cry all night, at the site
That my own mother dropped me
She dropped me, she dropped me
Off of the bridge she dropped me
I hit my head and wound up dead
But death it would not stop me
Won't stop me, won't stop me
Oh death, it will not stop me
I cry all night, at the site
That my own mother dropped me

Mister Foster, Mister Foster
Mowed his lawn, mowed his lawn
The grass it kept on growing
Grass it kept on growing
All day long
All day long
All his neighbors, all his neighbors
H.O.A., H.O.A
Wrote him angry letters
Wrote him angry letters
Every day, every day
They all judged him, they all judged him
On the block, on the block
No amount of mowing
No amount of mowing
Made it stop, made it stop
Father Duncan, Father Duncan
Dropped on by, dropped on by
Armed with holy water
Still the grass grew taller
Towards the sky
Towards the sky
Foster mowed down, Foster mowed down
Every blade, every blade
Foster didn't notice, Foster didn't notice
The mess he made, mess he made
Nothing grows there
Nothings grows there
Anymore, anymore
He still gets angry letters
Still gets angry letters
From next door

Here he comes, the ice cream man
The ice cream, the ice cream man
That sweet old Asian ice cream man
Charlie is his name
Ask him for the pixie sticks
The pixie sticks, the pixie sticks
Ask Charlie for the pixie sticks
He'll hand you some cocaine
Here he comes, the ice cream man
The ice cream, the ice cream man
That sweet old Asian ice cream man
Charlie is his name
Ask him for the rhubarb pie
The rhubarb pie, the rhubarb pie
Ask Charlie for the rhubarb pie
And meth amphetamines
Here he comes, the ice cream man
The ice cream, the ice cream man
That sweet old Asian ice cream man
Charlie is his name
Charlie he won't ask your age
Won't ask your age, won't ask your age
Charlie he won't ask your age
'Cause Charlie don't ID
If you get a Popsicle
A Popsicle, a Popsicle
If you get a Popsicle
You'll probably OD

Black Aggie
01:29
|
|||
Black marble hewn from the cave
Portrait in stone
A monument guarding a brave
General's last home
The spirit possessing the grave
Malevolent
A demon from darkness enslaved
With ill intent
Black statue drowning in grieving
Why do you weep?
Where do you walk in the evening
Tending your sheep?
And what silky webs you are weaving
All through my sleep
My happiest dreams you are thieving
Nothing to keep
Black Aggie sitting alone
Cheeks damp with tears
She hasn't returned to her home
In fifty years
An exile that some would consider
Draconian
An unpacked exhibit
At the Smithsonian

She Loved Him Madly
02:04
|
|||
Mary's brain was out of whack
Her husband wasn't coming back
She'd walk her dog with a vacant stare
Her bathrobe on and disheveled hair
Her house was over run with weeds
The neighbors clutched their rosary beads
God they thought, dear God they'd pray
Help poor Mary find her way
A few days passed, Mary stayed inside
It smelled a bit like something died
The cops they came, and they went upstairs
They found Mary lying there
Her face was a mess with blood and fur
A half-eaten dog in the bed with her
They locked her up where the walls are white
The neighbors all sleep well at night

The Goatman's Song
02:31
|
|||
Oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where has the angry goat man gone?
He’s broken from his cage
In such an awful rage
Oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where has the angry goat man gone?
He trots along, He trots along the Governor Bridge Road
He had a house in Crofton
Or so the story goes
He trots along, He trots along the Governor Bridge Road
Oh what, Oh what, Oh what, Oh what does the hungry goat man eat?
He feasts on little children
When they are fast asleep
Oh what, Oh what, Oh what, Oh what does the hungry goat man eat?
My axe, my axe, my axe, my axe is missing from the wall
I think I see the goat man,
He’s skipping down the hall
My axe, my axe, my axe, my axe is missing from the wall
Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no he’s underneath the bed
He’s waiting ‘till the lights out
His eyes are glowing red
Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no he’s underneath the bed

Snakehead Fish
02:07
|
|||
Oh the Northern Snakehead fish
Of legs is rather fond
He left Shanghai to make a home
In a Crofton runoff pond
And his slimy little feet
They grew out from his chest
When he left his wife he did not leave
A forwarding address
All the snobby Crofton folks
They tried to keep him out
But the snakehead stayed and he went ahead
And killed the local trout
When the Great Recession hit
He enacted his plan
He sold tee shirts on the side of the road
Like a real American
And the Chinese won't agree
To take his majesty
He's a no good slouch that sleeps on my couch
He keeps bad company
He's a clever snakehead fish
Got skills with magic tricks
And the way the ladies cling to him
You'd think he had eight dicks

Bring Back the Boys
02:04
|
|||
As I went skipping school one day
School one day, school one day
A figure stopped me on the way
And took me in his van
Fat vigilante, go and bring back the boys
Bring back the boys
Bring back the boys
Fat vigilante won’t you bring back the boys
Bring them back to school
He wore a cape and a hero mask
Hero mask, hero mask
He drank cheap booze from a silver flask
And searched for vagrant kids
He use to work down at the mill
At the mill, at the mill
He worked most every day until
His son went skipping class
He had to go take time off work
Time off work ,Time off work
To pick up the ungrateful jerk
He lost his job at the mill

Legend says, Christmas Eve
The cattle wait for folks to leave
And they lock the doors, they gather round and kneel
To tell each other how they feel
A farmer thought, I wonder if
There is any truth to it
So he hid himself underneath a bale of hay
To hear what his cows had to say
One cow said, "Oh my dear
The master won't live out the year"
And they stood and stared, apathetic and bemused
At this gruesome bit of news
Terrified, up he leapt
And prayed the cows were incorrect
But he slipped and fell, broke his neck upon the ground
It's there the farmer's corpse was found
So it is, so it goes
Careful what the livestock knows
Don't worry much about what they have to say
Or you'll die

Rosewood Girls
01:47
|
|||
On the outskirts of the city
Where our sordid tale begins
Lived the crazy
Rosewood ladies
In a run down loony bin
--
All the patients there committed
Were of weak and feeble minds
And the doctors
Were like monsters
And the nurses were unkind
Pretty pennies, made by many
For a rosewood girl or two
Selling ladies
Into slavery
Was a common thing to do
--
Large estates in need of tending
To maintain their subtle shine
Crimes there often
Go forgotten
Blinded by a dollar sign
Rosewood girls no longer fancied
Would be tossed out on the street
Underfed
They tried instead
Turning tricks so they could eat
--
Doctor Kanner blew the whistle
But his efforts were in vain
Rosewood ladies
Had their babies
Infants weak and feeble brained
Walking down the city sidewalk
I will sometimes pass them by
Rosewood children
Ever burdened
By a past they can't deny
